Aaron Taylor-Johnson Joins ‘Kingsman’ Prequel

“… and somewhere down the line, there’ll be a really crappy Kick-Ass 2.”

Trading in his green spandex for a tux, the cougar hunter re-teams with director Matthew Vaughn for the popular spy franchise. No word on what role he will play. Joining him in the origin story are a gaggle of stars including Harris Dickinson, Matthew Goode, Ralph Fiennes, and Djimon Hounsou. Not returning to the franchise is Taron Egerton (Eggsy), which makes sense considering the premise.

Agent Orange

According to Collider.com

(Harris) Dickinson will play Conrad, a cocky yet charming young hero who’s eager to serve his country and fight in World War I… the prequel is more of a period drama than a spy thriller, and the story centers around “the man who would be Kingsman.”

Harris Dickinson

In addition to the prequel (which is ostensibly called The Great Game), director Matthew Vaughn has these three projects in development:

  • A direct sequel to Kingsman: The Golden Circle
  • A Kingsman TV series
  • A Statesman film (The ‘Murican team)

That’s a whole lotta Kingsmen… for a series that I thought bit the cyanide capsule.

Kingsman: The Great Game is currently set for release on November 8, 2019.
