Andy Muschietti to Helm ‘Attack on Titan’ & ‘The Time Machine’ Films for Warner Bros.

Andy Muschietti, hot off directing IT and its upcoming sequel IT: Chapter 2, has been hired to helm a live-action adaptation of Attack on Titan for Warner Bros.

David Heyman (Harry Potter, The Legend of Tarzan) is producing the film with Masi Oka (Mega Man) and Andy’s sibling Barbara Muschietti. No actors have been signed onto the project just yet, but hopefully this adaptation of a beloved anime won’t be riddled with a whitewashing controversy.

Additionally, Muschietti will also helm a remake of the H.G. Wells novel, The Time Machine, for Warner Bros. Barbara Muschietti will produce along with Appian Way’s Jennifer Davisson and Leonardo DiCaprio. The Time Machine follows an “English scientist and inventor who is known simply as the Time Traveller and who travels forward in time and brings back knowledge of a dark future.”
