First there was “Flash vs. Arrow”. Then came “Heroes Join Forces” followed by “Invasion!” Last year brought “Crisis on Earth-X” to our TV screens. Now, 2018 will bring us “Elseworlds”.
That’s right. The title of the annual Arrowverse crossover has been revealed as “Elseworlds”. Take a look at the poster below.
If you squint, you can make out the Wayne logo on the building just to the left of the Arrow logo.
So what does this mean? Well, scratch out any idea that this could be a crossover set in its own universe telling a standalone story (just like the DC Comics’ imprint Elseworlds), as producer Marc Guggenheim has shot that down. Want to know my best guess? I think The CW will use this to merge together the worlds of Supergirl and Flash/Arrow/Legends creating one shared universe open to multiple crossover potential. Heck, merge in Earth-2 and -3 and you will have all the fan-favorite superheroes under one Earth roof.
Also, TVLine reports that LaMonica Garrett has been cast as Mar Novu, aka The Monitor, described as Garrett’s an “extraterrestrial being of infinite power”. In the comics, the Monitors are powerful entities who take it upon themselves to observe all occurrences within the Multiverse, including all realities and different points in time. So again, my theory is looking pretty good right about now.
Excited for the crossover?
