2009’s Avatar certainly shifted the goalposts for the quality of visual blockbuster and all but ushered in the advent of modern 3D cinema. But with so much time having passed between the original and the sequel (planned for release in 2020), it’s easy to forgive many audiences for not being as caught up in the moment that they might have eight years ago.
But Cameron is nothing if not an innovator and we’ll just have to wait to see what he brings to the table in the next installment.
Part of the possible delays are Cameron’s plans to shoot Avatar 2, 3, 4 and 5 at the same time. That’s an awful lot of ducks to get in a row and if that is indeed his plan, he probably should win some sort of global award for planning, organization and coordination.
Like a GloPlorCoo Nobel Prize For Dictating Box Office Cinema For The Next Decade or something.
By 2025, this CGI marvel will look like an early episode of Dr Katz
