‘Black Adam’ Solo Film Could Feature Hawkman and Stargirl

Once upon a time, Dwayne Johnson was set to appear in the upcoming Shazam! as antihero Black Adam. Those plans eventually evolved into giving the character his own solo film before pairing him against Shazam.

That Hashtag Show now reports that Adam Szytkiel, who was brought on in 2017 to pen Black Adam, has turned in a new draft that takes cues from Geoff Johns’ early 2000s run with the character. The new script apparently features Carter Hall/Hawkman in a major role. The studio is looking to cast an actor between 30-39 years old who can believably stand opposite of Johnson.

Additionally, JSA members (and occasional lovers) Stargirl and Atom Smasher are said to be in the script. An actress and actor between 20-29 are being sought. Hawkman and Stargirl were both previously featured on Legends of Tomorrow and Stargirl also has her own series coming to DC Universe.

Black Adam is looking to start production by March 2020. We’ll keep you updated as more news is revealed.
