Dexter Fletcher Hired to Finish ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’

Dexter Fletcher (Eddie the Eagle) has been hired by Fox to finish directing the last two weeks of production for Bohemian Rhapsody. In case you missed it, Bryan Singer was fired from the film on Monday after not reporting to the set after a family illness.

I’m actually pleased with this directorial swap, as Eddie the Eagle is a great film. Plus, Fletcher has an Elton John biopic on the horizon, so this will be could practice for him.

What do you think of the new director? Also, do you think this is the last director dropout/switch of 2017?

Bohemian Rhapsody is still expected to make its December 25, 2018 release date.

He can definitely handle the musical part. It’s almost too bad he didn’t get the job from the start.

Eddie The Eagle was pretty good. Only saw it once, but I liked it. Just looked into his two previous movies and they look pretty good too.

That is really surprising that they would replace the director with only 2 weeks of production left. I saw this headline a few days ago but did no digging on dirt. What went wrong with Singer? (I don’t buy that family illness thingy only.) It seems only fitting that both men get directorial credit.
