FanCast: Universal’s Bride of Frankenstein

As previously reported, Universal Studios next film to be part of their Dark Universe will be Bride of Frankenstein. Bill Condon (Beauty and the Beast) is attached to direct and the film has a release date for February 14, 2019.

Back in November 2015, Angelina Jolie was once rumored to be in talks for the part but it seems that is no longer the case. However, in the Dark Universe announcement from Universal, they made it clear that an actress would soon be cast in the part. Actor Javier Bardem has already been cast as Frankenstein’s Monster.

So for today’s FanCast, the question is: Who do you want to see cast as the Bride of Frankenstein?

My pick: Kelly Rowland.

She was the first name that came to mind. Don’t ask me why, because I can’t tell you. She’s only been in four films (Freddy vs. Jason being one of them), but if we’re trying to match Elsa Lanchester’s stunning look and appeal, I think she could do it. I understand why Universal was seeking Angelina Jolie for the role back in 2015, but for some reason my out-of-nowhere pick of Kelly Rowland isn’t so bad. Sure, she’s not in the same caliber of acting that Universal seems to be trying for with this universe (props to them for managing to get Bardem, Cruise, and Depp in this universe, well down Universal), but why should that be an issue?

That’s my FanCast for the Bride of Frankenstein. What’s yours?
