First ‘Daphne & Velma’ Trailer Sinks the ‘Scooby-Doo’ Franchise to New Lows

The first trailer for Daphne & Velma has been released and frankly all I can say is “Jinkies!” and not in a good way. Watch the trailer below if you dare (I dare you to see just how bad it truly is).

When this project was first announced last November, I was skeptical. The last time Scooby-Doo focused on just a duo of characters we ended up with Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue! which was mediocre to say the least. Plus, a direct-to-video film starring Daphne and Velma as online best friends who become real life best friends once Daphne moves to Velma’s school. And then let’s throw zombies into the mix?! It was like Warner Bros. executives were just throwing darts at a board filled with ideas.

And after watching the trailer all I can say is, “My god, this is worse than those live-action Scooby-Doo TV movies that aired on Cartoon Network almost ten years ago.” I mean if memory serves correctly they were pretty bad so Daphne & Velma really have outdone themselves here.

That being said, I sort of want to watch this just to see how awful it might be. Will I be buying it? Hell, no. Let’s hope I stumble across it on the ole TV one day.

Synopsis: Daphne and Velma are high school students who are brought together when they suspect their fellow students are being turned into zombies or mindless drones.

Daphne & Velma hits Blu-ray, DVD, and digital HD on May 22, 2018.
