First Look at Chucky in ‘Child’s Play’ Reboot; Aubrey Plaza Joins Cast as Filming Begins

Whether we like it or not, a Child’s Play reboot is upon us. Orion Pictures and MGM are bringing to the big screen a new Chucky and our first look at him has just been released. Take a look for yourself below.

You know what, I dig it. It looks pretty awesome.

Additionally, Aubrey Plaza (Legion) has been cast as the mother who gives her son (Brian Tyree Henry) the killer doll. Brad Dourif will not return to voice Chucky, who in this film has been reprogrammed to behave violently by a Chinese factory worker. Bye bye serial killer angle.

Here’s a brief synopsis: Child’s Play follows a mother (Plaza) who gives her son (Bateman) a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature.

Child’s Play is currently filming under director Lars Klevberg from a screenplay by Tyler Burton Smith.
