Variety reports that Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things, It) and Carrie Coon (Widows, Avengers: Infinity War) are both in negotiations to star in Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters film. Wolfhard was said to have blown Reitman and others away with his audition.
No plot details have been officially released by Sony, but the film is said to follow a single mom and her family. Coon is in talks for the role of the mother, Wolfhard for her son. Rumor has it that Dan Akroyd and Ernie Hudson could return in some capacity, possibly as mentors to the younger cast. The main cast is said to be four kids: two boys and two girls.
Sony seems to be fast-tracking this movie. Reitman was announced as director earlier this year and a short teaser was released right after. It’s been revealed that Ghostbusters has been in development on the down low for quite some time. Production is to begin this summer and release is expected in 2020.
So what do you think about this? Are you fans of Wolfhard and Coon? What about the movie itself? Surely you have an opinion that the world needs to hear. How about sharing it in the comments?
