Jon Favreau’s Star Wars Series Titled ‘The Mandalorian’; First Details Revealed

Disney likes Jon Favreau and Jon Favreau probably likes Disney back. The two have a great history. Favreau is responsible for the live-action remake of The Jungle Book and the upcoming The Lion King. And Disney owes a lot to Favreau for directing Iron Man and basically kickstarting their breadbasket that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

So Favreau ending up doing a Star Wars project wasn’t the most surprising thing when it was announced.

Now Jon Favreau has taken to Instagram to give us the first official details for the upcoming Disney streaming service series.

*cue drumroll*

And the title will be… The Mandalorian. And it already has a plot synopsis!!

Here’s the image that was posted on instagram:

And in case the image won’t load: After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic…

This series looks like it will whet the appetite for the Star Wars fans who are against the Sequel Trilogy and want something closer to the time period of the Original Trilogy.

The only question left remaining is if this series really will be set “after the stories of Jango and Boba Fett”. Your thoughts?
