Lost in the Buffet collects major movie news that just happened to get lost in the heaping buffet of film delicacies. In this edition we have a full title for Birds of Prey, a new Hellboy image, Sony dating two Marvel films, and Tessa Thompson revealing who she wants to see direct a Valkyrie solo film.
The Hollywood Reporter was the first to confirm the official title of Birds of Prey:
“[Margot] Robbie has shared on Instagram the title page of Christina Hodson’s script for Birds of Prey, which includes a handwritten addition, revealing the name is Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).”
That’s one of the longest damn titles I’ve seen since whatever the full title for Borat is. This means the majority will only refer to this film as Birds of Prey. The film hits theaters February 7, 2020.
Here’s the new Hellboy image showcasing David Harbour as Big Red charging into battle(?):
Sony Pictures has staked out two 2020 release dates for Non-MCU Marvel films: July 20 and October 2.
The best bets are for Morbius starring Jared Leto to come out in July and for a Venom sequel to hopefully strike box office gold again in October.
Trailer Track’s Anton Volkov revealed that at a Q&A after a screening of Creed II in London, Tessa Thompson said that Steven Caple Jr. should direct the Valkyrie solo movie.
That was in response to audience question about Caple Jr. doing a Creed III and following Ryan's footsteps in doing Marvel
