As if news on one husband/wife duo collaborating on a film was not enough for the day, THR says Melissa McCarthy is set to star in Super-Intelligence, an upcoming action-comedy from New Line set to be directed by McCarthy’s husband Ben Falcone. Super-Intelligence will mark the fourth collaboration between the husband and wife duo in an actor-director capacity after Tammy (2014), The Boss (2016) and the upcoming Life of the Party (2018). Following the release pattern, can we expect Super-Intelligence for 2020?

McCarthy will play Carol Peters, “a former corporate executive whose earnest yet unfulfilled life is turned upside down when she is selected for observation by the world’s first super-intelligence — an artificial intelligence that may or may not take over the world.”

Steve Mallory (The Boss) penned the script. Production will begin in July after McCarthy has finished shooting a different New Line film, The Kitchen, which stars Tiffany Haddish and Elisabeth Moss, and is an adaptation of the female-fronted DC/Vertigo comic book series.

You can catch McCarthy and Falcone’s work next in Life of the Party; in theaters May 11, 2018.
