New ‘Aladdin’ Trailer Cranks Up the Nostalgia

Disney has released a new trailer for Aladdin and it’s clear that after the mixed reception of Will Smith’s Genie the nostalgia factor is being cranked up to an 11. But, dare I say it, this is there best trailer yet! Do you trust me?

This is a WAY better trailer than that last one we saw (which was responded to online so badly that it is rumored to have prompted Disney to release the Frozen II trailer). We get glimpses of a couple musical numbers from 1992’s Aladdin like “Friend Like Me” and “A Whole New World.” Genie doesn’t even look like a blue CGI Slimer. I’m now cautiously optimistic that Disney will deliver again.

Synopsis: A thrilling and vibrant live-action adaptation of Disney’s animated classic, “Aladdin” is the exciting tale of the charming street rat Aladdin, the courageous and self-determined Princess Jasmine and the Genie who may be the key to their future. Directed by Guy Ritchie, who brings his singular flair for fast-paced, visceral action to the fictitious port city of Agrabah, “Aladdin” is written by John August and Ritchie based on Disney’s “Aladdin.”
