New Film Discussion: ‘Captain Marvel’ (2019) Spoiler Thread

Captain Marvel hits theaters today. It is the first film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since Captain America: The First Avenger to be set before the 2000s. It is also the first film in the MCU to be headlined solely by a female superhero. It is also (probably) the first superhero movie to have a cat steal the spotlight from the main character (Goose, amirite?!).

What did you think of the film? Where does it rank in the MCU? What did you think of the performances? Were the de-aging CGI believable? Did it set up Avengers: Endgame at all? Are you excited for more Larson as Carol Danvers?

Tell us your thoughts on Captain Marvel in the comments below!

Synopsis: Set in 1995, Captain Marvel follows Carol Danvers, a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, as she turns into one of the galaxy’s mightiest heroes and joins Starforce, an elite Kree military team, before returning home with new questions about her past and identity when the Earth is caught in the center of an intergalactic conflict between two alien worlds.
