New ‘Rocky and Bullwinkle’ Cartoon Trailer – An Update On The Classic Show Minus The Variety Show Aspects

When I was a kid, I used to watch the already very old “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle and Friends” (1959 – 1964) and loved it with my favorite segment being “Peabody’s Improbable History” starring the titular time-traveling Dog and his “pet boy” named Sherman (no, I haven’t seen either the move or the new cartoon show).    There have been many attempts to reboot Rocky and Bullwinkle over the years including a movie that I will not talk about here.  I have seen some people suggest that this new DreamWorks Animation reboot is more “action-packed” than the old show, but to me it just feels like an updated version of their segment of the classic show with the excellent Tara Strong voicing the flying squirrel.  Watch the trailer below and form your own opinion!

Official Synopsis for “The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle” (Minus Friends) coming to Amazon on May 11th:

The world’s best-known flying squirrel and talking moose are back in a serialized comedy about the two goofball best friends who routinely find themselves thrust into harrowing situations but end up saving the day time and again. As Rocky (Tara Strong) and Bullwinkle’s (Brad Norman) innocent and silly ambitions to become rock stars or find lost treasure end up dovetailing with Fearless Leader’s (Piotr Michael) sinister plans to take over the world, our heroes are set on a collision course with his notorious superspies Boris Badenov (Ben Diskin) and Natasha Fatale (Rachel Butera). Daran Norris narrates the series executive produced by Scott Fellows and Tiffany Ward, daughter of the original series producer Jay Ward.
