Tom Hanks as Mr. Rogers First Look
Yup, looks the part.
Mr. Rogers hits theaters October 18, 2019.
Casting: Death on the Nile, Swamp Thing, Annabelle 3
Deadline reports that Gal Gadot has boarded 20th Century Fox’s Agatha Christie adaptation Death on the Nile. Gadot is set to play Linnet Ridgeway Doyle, a “wealthy heiress who kicks off the story’s plot when she asks famed detective Hercule Poirot to help her deal with a fellow socialite who has been stalking her.” Death on the Nile is set to hits theaters December 20, 2019.
Deadline also reports that Jennifer Beals (Taken on NBC, The Last Tycoon) has joined Swamp Thing in the key role as the local sheriff. Sheriff Lucilia Cable is described as “tough as nails and pragmatic, fiercely devoted both to her son and to the town of Marais.” Swamp Thing is set to release on DC Universe next year.
Deadline also also reports that McKenna Grace (young Carol Danvers in Captain Marvel) has been cast as Judy, the young daughter of the supernatural specialists Lorraine and Ed Warren who becomes the latest target of Annabelle after her parents bring the doll home in the hopes that it will not be able to do any harm locked away in their house. Writer/director Gary Dauberman explained that the sequel, “really picks up with the Warrens bringing Annabelle to the place where it can really no longer wreak havoc, which is their artifact room. But, of course, it turns out she can also wreak havoc there.” Annabelle 3 hits theaters July 3, 2019.
Ryan Reynolds Boards Free Guy
Our good friend Deadline has let us know that Ryan Reynolds has attached himself to 20th Century Fox’s Free Guy, set to be directed by Shawn Levy. Inspired by The Truman Show, the movie follows “an office worker named Guy living out a drudgery of a life who discovers he’s actually a background character in a violent open world video game. But now the game is about to be shut down and replaced with a sequel, and Guy must save his world by convincing everyone else they’re actually living in a video game and starting a revolution.”

No Raid 3 On the Table
Sorry Raid fans but it looks like you won’t be getting a trilogy cap-off any time soon. Director Gareth Evans shot down those hopes by revealing:
“The Raid 1 and 2 were incredible for me, but I just didn’t want to be doing The Raids all the time. And the more time has gone on from that, the less interested I’ve been to go back there. What we did with The Raid 2, we kinda close that off nicely, so it didn’t really appeal to me to jump back into that world again.”
“The Raid 3 was… at one point it was on my radar. I had a full idea. I know what the storyline would have been. But I think enough time has passed now that I think I’m not likely to go back and revisit it. We had a lot of fun making those films, and I think we came to a nice, sort of natural conclusion with it. And I think sometimes you can have a little bit too much of a good thing.”
