Reel Quick: Warner Bros. Developing ‘ALF’ Reboot; Could Be Continuation of Original Series

Everyone’s favorite alien could be coming back! (No, it’s not Mac E.T.)

Variety reports that Warner Bros. is in the early stages of developing an ALF reboot. ALF, which stands for Alien Life Form, originally hung out with the Tanner family for four seasons and 100+ episodes in the late 1980s. It has garnered a huge pop culture following over the last twenty years, being referenced in countless TV shows like The Big Bang Theory and The Goldbergs.

At this stage, no writers are attached to the project, but one idea floating around is to pick up thirty years from the series finale (thus ignoring the TV movie continuation) with “ALF emerging from Area 51–where he has been held captive since the original series finale–and observing how much the world has changed since that time.”

In this mad landscape of reboots, do you think the world needs a little cat-eating ALF?
