The release calendar has seen a handful of films get dated for later this year and into 2021. Let’s find out what we can expect to see hit our theaters.
Deadline reports that The Kitchen release date has been moved up from September 20 to August 9, 2019. The film has also received an official R rating for “violence, language throughout and some sexual content” from the MPAA.
Hotel Transylvania 4 will hits theaters December 22, 2021. This franchise has become the new Ice Age in my opinion. Are people actually asking for more of this? …a quick Google confirms that these films not only manage to continue to out-gross its predecessor, but also gain more positive critical reception. Carry on, then.
The fifth and final installment of the Rambo franchise, titled Rambo V: Last Blood, will hit theaters September 20, 2019. That will make it 37 years since the series first launched with First Blood. Sylvester Stallone has already brought Rocky back to glory, can he do the same for Rambo?
Paramount Pictures has shuffled around a lot of its upcoming family releases. Are You Afraid of the Dark? has been pulled from its October 4, 2019 opening with no new date set. Clifford the Big Red Dog now hits theaters November 13, 2020 and Rugrats on January 29, 2021. The animated series of Clifford is part of my childhood, so I am interested in learning more on how they are going to pull it off.
Amazon Studios has give the Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling-led comedy Late Night a June 7, 2019 release date. The film is about “a ‘diversity hire’ in a late-night talk show writer’s room.”
