Oreo the Raccoon has gone to the big dumpster in the sky. The critter was used as reference by the animators and filmmakers for Guardians of the Galaxy. His passing was announced via Facebook.

Oreo lived until the ripe old age of 10, which is actually pretty good for a raccoon. In the wild, their life expectancy is about 2-3 years. Pampered Hollywood life, amirite?

Rocket Raccoon was created by Bill Mantlo and Keith Giffen in 1976. The character was voiced by Bradley Cooper in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014) and Vol. 2 (2017), as well as Avengers: Infinity War. He can next be seen in Avengers: Endgame, out this April.
