‘Toy Story 4’ Gets a Release Date

Blanket party!

You’ve got a skeptic in me.

In another display of omnipotence, Disney has announced when we’ll see the next adventure of Andy’s (former) toys:

June 21, 2019, in case that Facebook post isn’t working.

Directed by newcomer Josh Cooley, the film is rumored to be about Woody and Bo-Peep’s relationship. That makes me pause, but so did Toy Story 3, and I ended up really enjoying that threequel. Then again, I thought that film was a perfect finale, so we’ll see if this warrants a quadrilogy.

Also of note, Reddit reminded me that we have since lost the iconic Don Rickles (Mr. Potato Head). One wonders if they’ll recast, just as they did with the late Jim Varney (Slinky Dog). Although I doubt they could find a replacement as uncanny as Blake Clark.

Are you excited for Toy Story 4, or do you wish Disney/Pixar would leave well enough alone?
