‘True Lies’ TV Reboot in Development at Fox

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis in ‘True Lies’

Fox is dipping its toes back into the reboot game. After successfully bringing Lethal Weapon to the small screen last season, it’s hoping to do the same thing with another beloved Hollywood property. This time it’s James Cameron’s 1994 hit True Lies.

According to Deadline, Fox has commissioned a pilot for the proposed hour long reboot, which comes from McG, Marc Guggenheim (co-creator of Arrow), James Cameron’s Lightstorm Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV. Guggenheim will write the pilot with McG set to direct. The two will also executive produce alongside Cameron, Jon Landau, Rae Sanchini and Mary Viola. Apparently, this project has been in the works since last season.

What are your thoughts on the reboot? I’ve only caught about a quarter of the film on TV, but I must say that what I saw made me want to hunt down the film (seriously, how is there no blu-ray release for this yet?!). I don’t know if a TV reboot without Schwarzenegger or Curtis attached will warrant my watching, but never say never.
