Man, ‘Hostiles’ made a huge jump this week, ‘Maze Runner’ over threw ‘Jumanji’ and ‘Greatest Showman’ is still holding steady in the middle of the pack.

I saw ‘The Post’, ‘Darkest Hour’ and ‘The Shape of Water’ over the weekend.

All three movies were very good. I don’t see ‘The Post’ winning any major awards, but I could see Gary Oldman, and Guillermo del Toro taking Best Actor and Director easily.

What have you guys seen/want to see, liked/disliked?

  • 2011-2013 was the real YA money maker timeframes. just as Harry Potter and Twilight were ending and Hunger Games was beginning.

  • Larry Version 3

Honestly I wouldn’t recommend going out of your way to do it. 3 and 4 are pretty much a snooze fest. 4 painful hours for what should have been one film and less than half the length.
Maze Runner is by no means original, but the action sequences, the cast and the intensity of the situations are enough to make it worth while.

  • Lol, I stopped watching Hunger Games after 2 and was just thinking that I should catch up sometime, 1 and 2 were pretty good movies honestly.
Never saw Maze Runner, though I do hear a few positive things here and there

  • Larry Version 3

Yeah I mean the Maze Runner is probably the best franchise of the fad.
People stopped caring after Hunger Games 2 though lol.

  • Wouldn’t the height of popularity have been before, like 2012 when Twilight and Hunger Games coexisted?

  • Larry Version 3

Thank God. I do believe Maze Runner has been the peak of that fad though.

  • The YA fad is looking to be pretty much over

When my mum was talking to me about Hostiles, she told me she was surprised at how many people were in the screening room. I’m going to make a goal of seeing it this week, either with a friend or flying solo.
